Wars Are Dumb is a collaboration between Page 15 and Annalemma that began as a writing contest for Orlando High Schoolers. We asked them “what do adults do wrong, and how would you do it right?” then chose the best 15 submissions out of over 200 and immortalized these talented young writers in Page 15′s very first high school writing anthology.
Despite the snarky title, the stories and essays within are a testament to the authors’ maturity and creativity. From dystopian fictions both bleak and hopeful, a call to action for eligible voters, and memoirs about the stresses of AP classes to growing up without parents (just to name a few), this collection will give hope to the most cynical of cynics.
