SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

Creative Writing Coach

Join Page 15’s Young Writers Summer Camps (page15.org/summer) and help young authors write, illustrate, and publish their own books. Coaches work with Lead Coaches to inspire creativity, build confidence, and support students one on one in a fun, supportive space.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Lead Coach to deliver engaging creative writing activities that encourage artistic expression.
  • Support student learning, confidence, and personal growth.
  • Assist with classroom management, student attendance, and parent communication.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring creative space.

Details:

  • Location: UCF Downtown Campus, Orlando, FL
  • Seven-week commitment, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 1 PM (in-person, some flexibility)
  • Compensation: $150 per week, academic credit available

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth in a creative educational setting.
  • Passion for writing, literacy, and inspiring young authors.
  • Background in theater, storytelling, or performing arts is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Must complete a background check and attend required training (paid by Page 15).

Book Designer

Join Page 15’s Young Writers Summer Camps as a Book Designer and help young authors bring their stories to life through creative cover design. Designers work one-on-one with students each Wednesday from 9 AM–12 PM to create unique, personalized book covers using Canva.

Details:

  • Weekly commitment: Wednesdays, 9 AM–12 PM (in-person)
  • Compensation: $50 per week

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Canva
  • Experience with children preferred

Creative Writing Coach (After-School Program)

Join Page 15’s Young Writers Society in Parramore, serving students in grades 3–12 through creative writing workshops where there are no grades, no homework, and no pressure. Coaches guide and inspire students through weekly sessions that build confidence, literacy, and self-expression.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead creative writing activities 2 weekdays after school
  • Assist with student attendance, learning progress, and logistics
  • Support classroom organization and special projects

Details:

  • Commitment: 5-7 hours per week (in-person)
  • Compensation: $500 per semester
  • School credit not required

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children preferred (experience with underserved youth a plus)
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude

Editing & Publishing Internship

Join Page 15’s editorial team and help bring Central Florida students’ voices to print through our annual student anthology. Each year, fifteen finalists are selected to be featured in a beautifully illustrated collection of original writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and edit student submissions for the anthology
  • Support the publication process and assist with editing tasks
  • Help with program administration and cross-departmental projects

Details:

  • Commitment: 5–6 hours per week (mostly virtual)
  • Compensation: $250 per semester
  • School credit available

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, communication, and editorial skills
  • Knowledge of modern English grammar
  • Collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude
