Page 15’s popular Young Writers Summer Camp gives authors in 3rd–12th grades the opportunity to write, illustrate, and publish their very own book!
2025 Young Writers Summer Camp Details:
- Location: UCF Downtown Campus, 500 W Livingston St. Orlando, FL 32801
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (approx. 25+ hours/week).
- Duration: 5-7 weeks, including a mandatory two-day orientation.
- Camp Dates:
- June 2-6 (rising 3rd & 4th graders)
- June 9-13 (rising 5th & 6th graders)
- June 16-20 (rising 7th & 8th graders)
- July 7-11 (rising 3rd & 4th graders)
- July 14-18 (rising 5th & 6th graders)
- July 21-25 (rising 7th & 8th graders)
POSITIONS AVAILABLE
- Lead Creative Writing Coach: The Lead Creative Writing Coach will help guide all camp activities and support a small team of interns and volunteers in presenting a weekly creative writing camp for students from 3rd – 8th grade. In this position, you’ll support our Young Writers Camp by:
- Work one-on-one with young writers through creative writing activities.
- Assisting with program logistics including student attendance and talking with/informing parents.
- Helping to complete administrative or creative production tasks.
- Ensuring the creative space is well-maintained, clean, and organized
- Opportunities to participate in other creative, cross-departmental projects and events
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities we look for:
- Experience managing dynamic classrooms and teams.
- Desire to work with youth in a creative educational setting.
- Passion for creative writing, language, and inspiring young people.
- Background in theater, storytelling, or performing arts is a plus.
- Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Must complete a background check and attend required training (at no cost to you).

2. Creative Writing Coach [internship]: Creative writing coaches will work directly with young writers to write, illustrate and publish their very own book! In this position you’ll support our Young Writers by:
- Collaborating with Lead Coach to deliver engaging creative writing activities that encourage artistic expression.
- Work one-on-one with young writers through creative writing activities.
- Support student learning, confidence, and personal growth.
- Assist with classroom management, student attendance, and parent communication.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring creative space.
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities we look for:
- Previous classroom or child-work experience preferred.
- Command of the English language

3. Publishing and Storytelling Intern [internship]: The Publishing and Storytelling Intern will oversee the production of all book publication for the Young Writers Summer Camps! In this position you’ll support our Young Writers Summer Camp by:
- Overseeing the production schedule of all student stories including taking author photos, collecting author bios, printing and binding all campers’ books.
- Managing and communicating with graphic designers for cover design
- Work one-on-one with young writers to write their stories.
- Support student learning, confidence, and personal growth.
- Capturing and posting photos on Page 15 social media
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and inspiring creative space.
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities we look for:
- Working knowledge of Canva
- Previous classroom or child-work experience preferred.
- Command of the English language

Creative Writing Coach: Page 15’s Young Writers Society program in Parramore provides students in grades 4-8 with opportunities to publish, present, and perform original handcrafted content for their community. No grades. No homework. No pressure.
In this position, you’ll support our after-school Young Writers Society program by:
• Guiding and inspiring students through creative writing activities -Mondays & Fridays (2:30-5:00), Wednesdays (1:30-4:00)
• Assisting with program logistics, including student attendance and academic improvement
• Helping to complete administrative or operational tasks
• Opportunities to participate in other creative, cross-departmental projects and events
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities we look for:
• Able to commit approximately 7.5-10 hours per week
• Previous classroom or child-work experience preferred. (Prior experience working with students from underserved communities a plus!)
• Command of the English language
• Collaborative flexible, and enthusiastic team members
School credit is not required

Editing and Publishing Internship:
Every year, Central Florida students are presented with an intriguing and engaging theme and are asked to submit one piece of writing. Fifteen finalists from across Central Florida are selected to be published in a one-of-a-kind illustrated anthology of student writing.
In this position, you’ll support the publication through:
• Reading student submissions for our Anthology project
• Conducting edits on selected submissions
• Assisting in the publication process
• Helping to complete administrative or operational tasks of the program as needed
• Opportunities to participate in other creative, cross-departmental projects and events
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities we look for:
• Able to commit to approximately 5-6 hours per week
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Editorial skills, including knowledge of modern English grammar
• Be a collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic team member
• Fulfill every shift with adequate time management and productivity
